Web development for smaller businesses in Thailand
I build websites and applications, improve existing systems, and connect the tools a business relies on. I work with smaller businesses in Thailand, including villa rental operators, tourism projects, local service companies, and expat-owned businesses. What I do
New projects and practical improvements
- New websites and applications. I build company websites, content platforms, and custom applications. For a villa rental business, that may mean listings, search, multilingual content, and a booking or enquiry flow. For a service company, it may be a smaller website with clear service pages and dependable forms.
I work with WordPress, PHP, Laravel, and Astro. I help establish which parts need custom development and which can use an existing product. My web development guides explain the technologies and decisions involved. - Website support and ongoing development. I fix faults, add features, and maintain existing websites. Typical tasks include a form that loses enquiries, a plugin update that breaks a layout, an awkward content editor, or an internal tool that needs to support a new workflow.
Work can include WordPress themes and plugins, PHP fixes and modernization, and Laravel application development. I also handle email delivery faults, security cleanup, and planning for backups and updates.
Maintenance should reduce repeat problems: that might mean simplifying a template or documenting a cache setting. Further support is agreed around the system's needs, with explicit scope and timing. I build booking functionality and connect websites to business systems. That can mean passing enquiries into a CRM, connecting a booking platform, or replacing repeated manual entry with an integration.
The work includes deciding where information belongs, mapping data, and handling failed or repeated requests. Experience behind the work
Systems I have built and maintained
On Thailand-villas.com, I developed and maintained a PHP booking engine, property content, and destination websites from 2001 to 2022. The work meant keeping the public website and the system behind the bookings useful as business requirements changed.
For klik.villas, I developed the backend, database, and integrations connecting reservations, accounting, maintenance, and booking channels from 2011 to 2022. It brought spreadsheet-based rental administration into a dedicated property-management system. On both projects, Marc Ribail contributed hospitality and rental business knowledge; I handled technical development and maintenance. My involvement ended with their sale in 2022.
My current WhyBangkok.com project uses Astro and structured content to connect areas, transport, and guides within a city website. It is a family project still in development. My role covers the content model, page structure, search, and technical implementation.
Working together
Start with a clear first task
- Tell me what you need. Send a description of your project or technical problem, a relevant URL and platform if there is an existing system, and any deadline. For a new project, describe who will use it and what they need to do. I can then propose a first piece of work. My Approach page explains scope, communication, testing, and handover.
- Pricing. Technical work is THB 2,000 per hour. Typical small tasks take 2–6 hours. Larger work is estimated before starting, and a fixed price is possible when the scope is clear.
