How I got started
I started working with the internet in 1997 as an internet support technician. Between support calls, I spent my time programming. It was a practical way to learn: help someone solve an immediate problem, then use the quiet moments to understand how the systems behind it worked.
In 2000, I started working for TV 2, the Danish television network. In 2001, I moved to Thailand, where I lived for 16 years.
The same year I moved, I began developing Thailand-villas.com. Over the following 21 years, I built and maintained its PHP booking engine, destination websites, property content, and search structure. I later spent 11 years developing and maintaining klik.villas, a property-management system for villa rentals. Both businesses were sold to another company in 2022, ending my involvement.
Those long-running projects shaped how I work today. When improving an existing system, I prefer to understand it first, preserve what already works, and improve the parts that create risk, friction, or unnecessary maintenance. For a new website or application, the same care goes into choosing a clear and maintainable foundation.
What I work on today
Webstudiet is a one-person company. Clients work directly with me, and I remain responsible for the technical decisions and implementation.
My current work includes building new websites and applications with PHP, WordPress, Laravel, and Astro, as well as APIs and integrations, Cloudflare, website performance, accessibility, and technical SEO. I also improve, repair, extend, and maintain existing systems. I mainly help smaller businesses that need experienced technical support without a large agency process. On the English site, that includes companies and international projects with a connection to Thailand.
I work remotely and use written scope, version control, reviewable changes, testing, and clear handover notes. The objective is a website or system that is easier to run after the work is complete.
